Top Australian golf players will head to Karratha next month for the Ladbrokes PGA Pro-Am Series.

CITIC Pacific Mining (CPM) has partnered with other local sponsors and the Karratha Country Club to bring the one-day tournament to the Pilbara on Thursday 14 June.

The day tournament will draw both professional and amateur golfers to the Karratha Country Club golf course.

Karratha Golf Club President Gary Rayson said it was an honour to host some of the best Australian golf players in such a unique part of Western Australia.

“It’s wonderful to be able to provide the opportunity to locals to watch and participate in a major sporting competition right here in our Pilbara backyard,” Gary said.

“Thanks to our naming sponsor CPM as well as our valued other minor and hole sponsors for their support to making this community event happen – we’d love it to become a regular event.”

Joining CPM in support of the event are MHCARR Contracting, Pirtek, Auto One Karratha and Pilbara Media.

CPM Head of Corporate Affairs Rob Newton said sport played a critical role in building stronger and vibrant communities.

“In the coming years, we hope the Pro-Am becomes a must-play event for golfers right across the region.”

The Karratha Country Club is a not-for-profit organisation supporting community sporting groups including the Karratha Golf Club.
