2023 Round 2 applications open for CPM grants program
- Details
Pilbara-based grassroots projects are the focus of CITIC Pacific Mining’s Community Support Fund (CCSF) which is open for 2023 Round 2 applications.
Community groups and not-for-profit organisations in Karratha, Roebourne, Wickham, Point Samson, Dampier and Cossack are encouraged to apply for small grants of up to $5,000 (inclusive of GST).
Since its inception in 2021, a dozen local groups have shared in more than $56,000 in CCSF funding for projects such as team uniforms for the Nickol Hawks Cricket team, jerry cans and CB radios for the Wirrawandi Aboriginal Corporation Rangers, timing gear for the Pilbara Trailblazers running club and barista supplies for the Swan Elevate hospitality course at Roebourne District High.
The CCSF Grants Program is supported by CITIC Pacific Mining’s (CPM) Containers for Change recycling initiative which sees the funds raised from drink container recycling at CPM’s Sino Iron Cape Preston operations reinvested into community projects.
The program has five focus areas:
- Education and training
- Healthy, active lifestyles
- Cultural learning and exchange
- Environmental responsibility
- Youth support and development
Applications for Round 2 close on 26 August 2023.
The CCSF is just one part of CPM’s community support initiatives. Over the years, CPM has partnered with organisations such as the Clontarf Foundation’s Karratha Academy, PCYC Roebourne, Royal Flying Doctor Service, Beyond Blue and the Heart Foundation.
