Three Pilbara-based initiatives have each received $5,000 grants from CITIC Pacific Mining’s newly-established CPM Community Support Fund (CCSF).

Big hART’s recent ‘Songs for Peace’ festival in Roebourne, the upcoming Cossack Dragon Boat Festival and the West Pilbara Cricket Team’s 2022 Country Week program successfully applied for the CCSF Grants, part of CPM’s ongoing commitment to supporting the local community.

Two CCSF application rounds are held annually. The fund was established following introduction of CPM’s Containers for Change recycling initiative, with returns from drink container recycling at the Sino Iron operation reinvested into community projects via the grants program.

Focus areas for grant funding are:
• Education and training
• Healthy, active lifestyles
• Cultural learning and exchange
• Environmental responsibility
• Youth support and development.

In recent years, CPM has partnered with organisations such as the Clontarf Foundation’s Karratha Academy, PCYC Roebourne, the Royal Flying Doctor Service, Beyond Blue and the Heart Foundation. We also continue to support grassroots Pilbara-based groups and not-for-profit organisations.
