CPM celebrates International Women's Day
- Details
In celebration of International Women’s Day, a gathering of more than 50 women was held at the Sino Iron project for a luncheon on Friday.
Students and teachers from local high schools, Karratha SHS and St Luke’s College, were guests of honour at the event, enjoying a tour of Sino Iron with presentations from CPM’s mining career ambassadors, Mine Controller Jess Tole and Senior Mining Engineer Diana Greenup.
The students were interested to hear about the wide scope of careers available in the industry and the nuts and bolts of magnetite mining and processing at Sino Iron, just 100km from their schools in Karratha. All took the opportunity to get behind the wheel of one of CPM’s haul trucks, used in mine pit operations.
