Round 2 of CPM's Community Support Fund (CCSF) Targets Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Communities
- Details
The Northwest Multicultural Association WA is the latest recipient of a $5000 CCSF grant, which will be used support the Northwest Multicultural Festival 2024.
The popular festival promotes cultural understanding, celebrating diversity and fostering inclusivity within the Pilbara region.
Established in November 2021, the Northwest Multicultural Association aims to support all Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CaLD) individuals in the Pilbara community. The Northwest Multicultural Festival showcases the rich diversity of cultures through performances, workshops, food tasting, and interactive activities.
A new addition this year is a forum aimed at addressing the challenges faced by CaLD communities. This half-day forum will bring together government officials, local service providers, and community organisations to discuss issues related to liveability and inclusion.
Seventeen Pilbara-based projects and organisations have benefited from the small grants program since its inception in 2021. The CCSF has two application rounds each year and is made possible by CPM’s Containers for Change recycling initiative, which reinvests funds raised from drink container recycling at the Sino Iron Cape Preston operations into community projects.
Focus areas for grant funding are:
• Education and training
• Healthy, active lifestyles
• Cultural learning and exchange
• Environmental responsibility
• Youth support and development.
Congratulations to the Northwest Multicultural Association for being the recipient of Round 2 of the CCSF grant for 2024.
