  • July – Line 1 continuous production of Cape Preston (magnetite) Concentrate
  • September – Line 2 load commissioning begins
  • December – First shipment of magnetite concentrate

2014

  • July – Construction begins on lines 3-6
  • Produced first million tonnes of Cape Preston Concentrate

2015

  • March – First CITIC purpose-built mini-cape vessel transports concentrate to China
  • October – Line 3 load commissioning begins
  • November – Line 4 load commissioning begins

2016

  • Completion and commissioning of Lines 5 and 6

2017

  • Mining Control Room and MineStar Fleet Management system implemented
  • Confirmed as the largest seaborne supplier of concentrate to the China market
  • July - Cape Preston (Sino Iron) Aerodrome Official Opening

2018

  • July - 100,000 tonnes in 24-hour period for the first time
  • October - 50 millionth (wet) tonne of concentrate

2019

  • April - Completed the construction of crew boat Ardea in Fremantle.
  • July - CITIC Ltd announces Sino Iron's first-ever profit in its half-year results
  • December - Shipped over 20 million (wet) tonnes of magnetite concentrate

2020

  • Ranked as Western Australia's 10th biggest exporter by value

2021

  • Managed operational impacts of COVID-19 - ensured wellbeing of workforce and delivered continuous production

2022

  • Shipped 21 million (wet) tonnes for the year
  • August/September - Achieved several operational records in a 24-hour period including tonnes reclaimed and stacked

2023

  • Tenth anniversary of the first shipment of Cape Preston Concentrate
  • April - One millionth passenger touches down at Cape Preston Aerodrome
