- Details
Community groups and not-for-profit organisations in Karratha, Roebourne, Wickham, Point Samson, Dampier and Cossack are encouraged to apply for small grants of up to $5,000 (inclusive of GST) as part of CITIC Pacific Mining’s Community Support Fund (CCSF).
Since its inception in 2021, 13 local groups have shared in more than $66,000 in CCSF funding for projects such as the Northwest Multicultural Association’s Mandarin language program, upgrading the Ngarluma Yindjibarndi Foundation’s facility training space and safety equipment for the Karratha Gymnastics club.
The CCSF Grants Program is supported by CITIC Pacific Mining’s (CPM) Containers for Change recycling initiative which sees the funds raised from drink container recycling at CPM’s Sino Iron Cape Preston operations reinvested into community projects.
The program has five focus areas:
- Education and training
- Healthy, active lifestyles
- Cultural learning and exchange
- Environmental responsibility
- Youth support and development
Applications for Round 1 close on 28 February 2024.
The CCSF is just one part of CPM’s community support initiatives. Over the years, CPM has partnered with organisations such as the Foundation for the WA Museum, Clontarf Foundation’s Karratha Academy, PCYC Roebourne, Royal Flying Doctor Service, Beyond Blue and the Heart Foundation.
