CITIC Pacific Mining’s (CPM) again on the hunt to support Pilbara-focused grassroots projects with grants of up to $5,000 per application from its CPM Community Support Fund (CCSF).

The CCSF Grants Program has two application rounds each year and is supported by CPM’s Containers for Change recycling initiative.

Since its inception in 2021, 10 local groups have shared in more than $46,000 in CCSF funding. They include North West Multicultural Association’s Community Language Program, West Pilbara Cricket Team’s Country Week events, Karratha Kats Mini Movers Program and Pilbara Wildlife Carers Association’s ongoing care and rehabilitation of wildlife in the Cape Preston area.

The CCSF has five focus areas:

  • Education and training
  • Healthy, active lifestyles
  • Cultural learning and exchange
  • Environmental responsibility
  • Youth support and development

Community groups and not-for-profit organisations in Karratha, Roebourne, Wickham, Point Samson, Dampier and Cossack which meet the selection criteria, are encouraged to apply online.

Applications for Round 1, 2023 are now open and close on 28 February 2023.

The CCSF is just one part of CPM’s community support initiatives.

In recent years, CPM has partnered with organisations such as the Clontarf Foundation’s Karratha Academy, PCYC Roebourne, The Blue Tree Project, Movember and Miners Promise.
