What makes us different?

Sino Iron is mining on a massive scale and we use the biggest mining equipment in the world. In time the size of the mine will be larger than Kalgoorlie’s Super Pit.

Sino Iron is the largest magnetite mining and processing operation in Australia.  The concentrator houses six processing lines with designed annual capacity of 24 million tonnes of high grade magnetite concentrate.

We've built the first port in the Pilbara in 40 years to ship magnetite concentrate from Cape Preston to overseas steel mills.

Our state-of-the-art combined-cycle, gas-fired power station with design capacity of 480 megawatt is the first to be built in the Pilbara and produces 40% less emissions than an equivalent-sized open-cycle plant. This significantly reduces the project's carbon footprint.

Our desalination plant is as big as the plant in Perth with the capacity to produce 140,000 megalitres of water per day. That’s about 50 Olympic-sized swimming pools!
